Sons of the Forest is the sequel to The Forest from 2018 and PC owners can now hop into the early access build. Crafting is a significant part of Sons of the Forest as it contributes towards your survival. Some items are essential such as a base and traps, while others are decorative. Learning how to craft a Scarecrow in Sons of the Forest is more useful than you may think and this guide contains all the crafting instructions you need.
A Scarecrow may look like a decorative item at first, but it actually acts as a decoy. It distracts nearby cannibals because they’ll start fighting the Scarecrow. This gives you the perfect opportunity to heal up, attack the enemies while they’re confused, or escape the area.
What do you need to craft a Scarecrow in Sons of the Forest?
Before you can build a Scarecrow, you’re required to gather the relevant resources. You need to have 14 sticks and 4 pieces of duct tape in your inventory. There are sticks dotted all over the ground for you to pick up, but if there aren’t enough in the area, you can grab some by chopping down small trees. As for duct tape, you can get your hands on it by searching crates around the island.
When you’re ready, open up your crafting guide and under the utility tab is where you’ll find the Scarecrow recipe. Place the blueprint down exactly where you want your Scarecrow to be and combine the resources together. You’ll then be left with a creepy looking Scarecrow guarding your location that’s sure to spook any enemies that pass by.
