The Kansas map expansion for American Truck Simulator was announced earlier this year.
Work has been progressing in the background for the last few months and now the team has released some early screenshots of two settlements that will be explorable in the sim: Colby and Hays.
To “America’s Heartland”
The Midwestern state of Kansas is home to just under 3 million people and not even 30,000 live in the towns of Colby and Hays. However, they do have some history to them.
Colby was established all the way back in 1884 and has become an integral part of Kansas’ primary industry: agriculture. In American Truck Simulator, drives will have many jobs to haul goods to and from the town.
As for Hays, it’s a little bigger and older than that of Colby. There are various stores and industrial sectors where jobs await in-game drivers.
Both of these cities are filled with historical landmarks, quaint architecture and lots of rolling fields that surround them. All of this is par for the course when it comes to Kansas, which has the other name of being “The Wheat State.”
SCS just recently released the Oklahoma map expansion, which also features an extensive amount of farmland and joins Kansas as being a part of the Midwest region of the States.
Along with Kansas, the studio has recently revealed a Nebraska map expansion. This is, of course, a lot earlier along than that of Kansas. Now that Oklahoma has wrapped up production, the team is surely working even more diligently on both of these upcoming expansions.
There’s no release estimates for either project. American Truck Simulator Kansas could potentially hit before the end of the year, but 2024 is more likely for both expansions.
