Starfield is easily one of, if not the most highly anticipated game of 2023. If you want to preload Starfield to get ahead of the game, you may be able to begin your download sooner than you think.
The details first appeared on Amazon, where it was revealed that preloads could begin in just a few days time.
Get ready to preload Starfield
According to an Amazon listing for a Starfield edition Xbox Series S, you’ll be able to begin preloading the game from Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
The listing doesn’t include the time that the Starfield preload will begin, but we speculate that it could be midnight local time. Also, it’s unknown if preloading on PC will kick off on the same day as Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Since you’ll need 125GB of space to download Starfield, the game may take a while to download, especially if you don’t have the best internet. You’ll want to take advantage of preloading to make sure you can jump straight in when the game goes live on September 6 (or September 1 if you place a pre-order.)
There is a possibility that the date could change, especially since we haven’t had any official confirmation as to when players will be able to preload Starfield. We will be on the look out for an announcement from Bethesda in the coming days.
