Topple Tactics has unleashed its Revenge of the Huge Toppler update and it has added a new Tug of War mode.
Although the fresh game mode is the focus of the patch, other adjustments have been made to the game which you can view on the official Steam page.
Push and pull
Tug of War works as you’d expect, the health bar is replaced by a progress bar that begins in the middle of the screen. To win the game as a Little Toppler, players must reach the end of the level to push the progress bar to the left and fill their half of the bar. As for the Huge Topplers, they will regain health over time, indicated through the progress bar slowly moving toward the right side. If the Huge Topplers can hold off the Little Topplers for long enough and fill their half of the bar, that side will win.
However, progressive buffs will be granted during a match, allowing both sides to stay in the game. If the Huge Toppler side progresses 33% of the way to victory, Little players will receive a small buff to their passive income, speed, knockback resist, ability strength, and jump height. If the Huge player progresses to 66%, Little player buffs are doubled. Similarly, if the Little player is at 33%, the Huge player receives more passive income, quickened ability cooldowns, and their towers become stronger. The Little player reaching 66% of the way to victory will result in greater Huge player buffs.
The exact values of the buffs in the Tug of War mode are as follows:
When Huge player is 33% to victory the Little players gain “Phase 1” Buffs:
- Passive Income +30%
- 12% Speed Bonus
- +20 Knockback Resist (A flat stat increase instead of a percent)
- +10 Ability Strength (A flat stat increase instead of a percent)
- 10% Jump Bonus
When Huge player is 66% to victory the Little players gain “Phase 2” Buffs:
- Passive Income +60%
- 20% Speed Bonus
- +40 Knockback Resist (A flat stat increase instead of a percent)
- +15 Ability Strength (A flat stat increase instead of a percent)
- 20% Jump Bonus
When Little players are 33% to victory the Huge player gains “Phase 1” Buffs:
- Passive Income +50%
- Ability Cooldowns 15% Faster
- Towers 10% Stronger
When Little players are 66% to victory the Huge player gains “Phase 1” Buffs:
- Passive Income +50%
- Ability Cooldowns 30% Faster
- Towers 20% Stronger
For Huge players, medals are awarded for winning in a certain amount of time, while Little players can earn medals based on their shoot to death ratio.
