Just in time for the speedily approaching arrival of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Thrustmaster has unveiled its new MSFS-branded edition of the T.Flight Hotas One.
The overall makeup of the T.Flight has been used for several years by Thrustmaster, but this new branded colourway spices up the visual design with some vivid colour combos.
One module, two parts
HOTAS stands for “Hands on Throttle and Stick.” This unit functions as one but can be separated into two, with the throttle module sitting a distance away from the joystick. They’re still tethered together by a USB cable, however.
This particular Microsoft Flight Simulator branded SKU sports some sky blue accents that match the sim’s logo, with a splash of black along major parts of the unit cast, against a solid white casing that makes up the majority of the colour scheme.
What’s old, is new
While the colourway might be sleek and new, the overall design, as alluded to earlier, is not. Thrustmaster has been repainting and re-releasing the T.Flight Hotas for several years at this point. The key features mentioned on the product page don’t highlight any particular new additions from past iterations. That said, its feature set is still pretty decent when it comes to a solid mid-range flight stick option.
The T.Flight Hotas One features 5 axes, 14 buttons, 1 trigger, and 1 hat switch. Between a rocker on the throttle and the twist axis on the joystick, there are two rudder axes available for use either independently or simultaneously. The button array also consists of a collection of buttons from the modern Xbox controller, acting as a visual aid and making button mapping more of a breeze.
At the base of the joystick is an adjustable knob that can increase or decrease the tension of the stick, allowing the user to settle on having a more rigid or slack-feeling stick.
Seeing that the T.Flight Hotas One is an officially licensed Xbox accessory, it should come as no surprise that it’s fully compatible across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Pre-orders for the new, old stick are live now for USD $99.99. It’s available via several major retailers such as Amazon and GameStop, with a release date of November 19, 2024—the same day as the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
