The Sinking City is an adventure and investigation game set in an open world. As a private investigator, it’s your job to come to the bottom of the supernatural forces that are causing trouble in the city. New and existing players can now get the ultimate horror experience with The Sinking City Remastered.
In March 2025, it was announced that The Sinking City would receive a Remaster, but no release date was given. If you like surprises and you’re a fan of The Sinking City, you’ll be happy to hear that the Remaster is now live.
Fresh look, same frights
The team behind the title, Frogwares, has completely revamped the graphics, truly bringing the tense atmosphere that engulfs The Sinking City to life with a multitude of enhanced features. First of all, the visuals have been overhauled with 4K textures, new lighting and effects. Support for DLSS, FSR and TSR upscaling, along with frame generation has been added, deploying more detail to the Lovecraftian horror than ever before.
Fittingly, a photo mode has made its way into The Sinking City Remastered, allowing players to find opportunity in the stunning new visuals. Photo mode comes with numerous settings, including sharpness, tint and filter intensity options. The Remastered version also comes with improvements to controls, combat, game balance, crowds and tutorial segments.

The Sinking City Remastered is available for free to existing owners of the original game. Current and future owners of the game will retain access to both the original 2019 release and the Remaster.
Frogwares has released a launch trailer for The Sinking City Remastered that makes visual comparisons between the original and new version.
The Sinking City Remastered is available now on PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
