With Elden Ring confirmed to be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, a Tarnished Edition will arrive to the Switch version and as an expansion on other platforms.
Due to the enhanced power that the Nintendo Switch 2 wields, modern titles are able to be ported over to the upcoming console. The Switch 2 will support Unreal Engine 4 and 5, 120 fps and 4K output, and even uses DLSS and ray-tracing functionalities.
Take on the role of a Knight
Thanks to Famitsu, we know more details about the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition as they were shared at FROMSOFTWARE GAMES EVENT Spring 2025, held in Tokyo on May 6, 2025.
The Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will allow you to change the appearance of your spirit horse with three new looks. In addition, four new types of armor, weapons, and combat techniques will be useable with the Tarnished Edition.
Two new character classes have been revealed, going by the name of Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight. Specific details on their stats and performance are yet to be unveiled, but they will provide new ways to test your skills all the same.

The Tarnished Edition will be available to purchase on the Nintendo Switch 2 at an unknown date in 2025. As for players on other platforms, they will also be able to get access to the new content through the Tarnished Pack DLC.
Nintendo fans have the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion to look forward to which will launch with the base game on the Switch 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be in the hands of consumers on June 5, 2025. Hopefully more details about the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will emerge by the time the system launches.
