DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an unforgettable cinematic story of DOOM Slayer’s rage.
Bethesda has released the launch trailer for DOOM: The Dark Ages, showing off the gritty hellscapes and array of devastating weapons for a final time, before players get their hands on them.
Stepping back into the Medieval times, your will wield the super weapons of Gods and kings, while still being able to use the franchise classics such as the Super Shotgun. DOOM Slayer is the ultimate opposition to the demon hordes, as their leader is on a mission to destroy the Slayer and become the only entity that is feared.
Although the official DOOM: The Dark Ages release date is May 15, those who pre-order the game will get two days worth of early access and the Void Slayer skin. The Premium Edition also comes with two days of early access as a pre-order bonus, as well as a campaign DLC, Divinity skin pack, and digital artbook and soundtrack. Details on the DLC and when it will be available will come at a later date.
DOOM: The Dark Ages will also land on Game Pass on day one, allowing subscribers to reign in hell. The upcoming entry in the DOOM series will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Battle.net, too.
If you were hoping for multiplayer, you’re out of luck. The decision to cut that component was made at the very beginning in favour of focusing on delivering a stellar singleplayer experience.
