With the return of Verdansk as the main Warzone map, the fast time-to-kill that was in the first iteration of the game has come with it. Raven Software has now addressed player concerns about rewinding the clock on the time-to-kill.
Whether you’re playing multiplayer or Warzone, it seems that Call of Duty’s time-to-kill is questioned every single year. Some prefer a fast time-to-kill, while others argue that it completely removes the skill gap. Different weapons making up the loot pool compared to the original Verdansk also makes the situation a whole lot more complex.
Three shots and you’re dead
In an interview with IGN, Pete Actipis, Game Director over at Raven Software, confirmed that the time-to-kill is faster in Verdansk compared to Urzikstan, but it was an intentional choice.
“Comparatively to last year, the Urzikstan year, it is a faster TTK. It’s pretty equivalent – I don’t know the exact numbers offhand – but the original experience and what we wanted to go back for now was make it more of a casual, friendly kind of, ‘if I’m not good at hitting straight shots, I have an opportunity, I’m not going to get destroyed every gun battle.’ There’s also a lot more excitement of like, ‘oh, I have an opportunity to get a kill’.”

For those that aren’t a fan of the current time-to-kill in Warzone, there is some bad news, as Raven Software “like right now where the TTK sits. We will evaluate as the game progresses and see what our fans think. We’re always evolving and we’ll react appropriately based on that. But right now, it seems like people are enjoying it.”
