Atomfall made its debut on March 27, 2025 and it is already proving to be a hit, with the player count reaching 1.5 million gamers in less than a week. Rebellion has commented on its most successful launch in the studio’s 32-year history.
Set in the British countryside Atomfall throws you into a quarantine zone, where you must survive through scavenging for resources, crafting and fighting off threats. The eerie world has been explored by so many already, as players search for answers hidden in a captivating narrative.
One for the history books
In a press release, Jason Kingsley CBE, CEO and co-founder of Rebellion expressed the team’s delight that so many players are enjoying what Atomfall has to offer. “To have surpassed the one million players in such a short space of time speaks volumes for the creativity and dedication of the entire team here at Rebellion. Our size and stability mean that we can take risks to create something as different as Atomfall. Happily, that risk is paying off.”
Kingsley continues, “we are a British company, and the game is a true reflection of that. Not only is it set in the lush, beautiful countryside, but Atomfall also draws inspiration from so many classic British books, films and TV series. We hope that players continue to enjoy exploring the world of Atomfall and are looking forward to future content for the game.”

So far, 316,000 gamers have killed the scientist at the very beginning of the game and there have been a whopping 3.7 million kills using the cricket bat. In true British fashion, over 4 million pasties and 300,000 cups of tea have been consumed.
The only way is up for Atomfall and its player count, with a Wicked Isle DLC set to add even more content by expanding on the current story.
