Seattle Mariners rep Nintendo Switch 2 branding with new jerseys

Seattle Mariners nintendo switch 2 jersey

A little known fact about Nintendo is its long-standing relationship with the Seattle Mariners baseball team. Just a few short weeks before the big Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the Mariners have shown off new, updated jerseys that curiously feature a Nintendo Switch 2 patch on one, and a classic red Nintendo branded patch on another.

The stadium in Seattle has been home to numerous Nintendo promotions over the years, such as free access to the Nintendo Fan Network. As the partnership continues it isn’t too surprising to see the Switch 2 here.

‘Gotta represent’

The team has split the branding across two jerseys. For home games, the white jerseys with the Nintendo logo on the sleeve will be worn. When playing away, teal-coloured jerseys with a bright red Nintendo Switch 2 patch on the sleeve will be worn.

This sort of casual advertisement is not at all uncommon for big businesses. But, in this particular case, it’s very clear that this move is part of Nintendo’s wider advertising campaign that it’s kicking off in relation to the Nintendo Switch 2. In fact, this is the first bit of ‘in the wild’ advertising that we’ve seen for the upcoming system.

Naturally, more efforts such as this are expected to be ramped up and rolled out in the coming weeks, particularly after the special Nintendo Direct that’ll air on April 2, 2025.

Key information such as the system’s release date (and perhaps, launch price) is expected to be revealed during that Nintendo Direct. No doubt, other exciting advertising stunts like this collab with the Seattle Mariners will be sure to help get the word out to the general public.
