Hogwarts Legacy brought the world of Harry Potter to life in video game form, allowing players to live out their wizard dreams. It was a hit and unsurprisingly, leaks began to point towards a DLC being in the works. Following operational changes at Warner Bros, it’s now believed that the Hogwarts Legacy DLC has been cancelled.
Efforts to continue the success of Hogwarts Legacy have gone stale, with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions unable to replicate the hype that surrounded Hogwarts Legacy. Previous leaks have pointed towards more Hogwarts Legacy content being in the pipeline, but exact plans are yet to be officially confirmed.
What’s next for Hogwarts Legacy?
According to Bloomberg, the move to abandon the DLC comes “part of an ongoing restructuring at the entertainment company’s video-game unit.”
Although the DLC was never actually announced, Insider Gaming reported in October 2024 that the expansion was in the works. However, sources at Bloomberg state, “Warner cancelled the project this week in part due to concerns that the amount of content was not substantial enough to justify the price being considered.”

It was thought that the DLC would be made up of 10-15 hours of additional content to play through, from a new story quest, to side quests, activities, and outfits.
If you were hoping for more Hogwarts Legacy action, a DLC for the original game may not be the direction Warner Bros are going in. With that said, there is a sequel to the first game that is rumoured to still be in development.
Only time will tell what Warner Bros have planned for the future of Hogwarts Legacy. Until then, consider checking out more of our latest content:
