Two Age of Empires games are coming to PlayStation 5

Already, Age of Empires has a huge community of fans behind the franchise and that’s about to get a whole lot bigger when PlayStation 5 players can become rulers of their own kingdoms. It has been announced that two Age of Empires games will be available on PS5, with the first arriving as soon as next month.

The award winning world that is Age of Empires has a lot planned for 2025 and PlayStation players will be able to get in on all the action from the moment the game hits the storefront.

Age of Mythology: Retold will hit PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2025. This date coincides with the Immortal Pillars expansion that PS5 players will also be able to purchase. In fact, if you pick up the Premium Edition of Age of Mythology: Retold on PlayStation 5, you’ll get access to the upcoming Immortal Pillars expansion, along with five days worth of Early Access, beginning on February 27, 2025. Additionally, placing a pre-order will grant two exclusive Blessings for the Arena of the Gods mode.

Following this, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will hit Sony’s platform in the Spring. Again, this will launch alongside an upcoming Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition DLC. Although details of this expansion are under wraps, it’s expected to include more content in the form of new civilizations for Ranked play. From March 4 onwards, game updates will be released on all platforms at the same time, including PlayStation. Whether you’re on Steam, Windows Store, Xbox, or making your PlayStation 5 debut, all players will be able to play together, no matter the platform. Age of Empires isn’t the only Xbox exclusive to make the move to its rival platform. Most recently, it was announced that Forza Horizon 5 will race onto the blue side this Spring.
