Fortnite is shutting down an OG game mode

fortnite Ranked OG Zero Build shutting down

Whether you’re a casual player or you enjoy climbing the Ranked ladder, there’s something for everyone to dive into in Fortnite. After continuous evaluation of the Fortnite Ranked system, Epic Games is shutting down Ranked OG Zero Build. Those that want to continue battling it out in Ranked OG will have to play the standard playlist with builds enabled.

It’s no secret that the Ranked variant of the OG Zero Build mode has been struggling. However, the competitive scene has been spread across various playlists. There are Chapter 6 Season 2 regular build and Zero Build modes, while the same applies to Ranked Reload and Ranked OG. With all these Ranked experiences, OG Zero Build has fallen behind.

All OG players in one place

The Fortnite Status X account announced that Ranked OG Zero Build will be disabled for all regions due to “matchmaking health.”

Those in Brazil, Oceania, Middle East, and Asia server regions will see Ranked OG Zero Build be disabled on March 4, 2025. EU and NAC regions will continue to offer Ranked OG Zero Build until the end of OG Season 2 on March 25, 2025. This means that players who aren’t in EU and NAC can continue to play Ranked OG Zero Build by navigating to the in-game settings menu and changing the matchmaking region to NAC or EU until March 25, 2025.

Although the Ranked OG Zero Build playlist is preparing to depart, it doesn’t mean that it won’t return. It may be brought back in the future, and again, this decision is dependent on matchmaking health.
