The annual Steam Awards are back for 2024 and you can nominate your favourite games across 11 categories.

Nominations for the Steam Awards are now open until December 4, 2024, at 10am PST. Shortly after, you’ll be able to vote for the finalists in each category.

Another year around the virtual world

The categories you can nominate and vote in are as follows:

  • Game of the Year Award
  • VR Game of the Year Award
  • Labor of Love Award
  • Best Game on Steam Deck Award
  • Better With Friends Award
  • Outstanding Visual Style Award
  • Most Innovative Gameplay Award
  • Best Game You Suck At Award
  • Best Soundtrack Award
  • Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award
  • Sit Back and Relax Award

You can nominate a game in the dedicated categories by visiting The Steam Awards 2024 website and clicking on “Select Nominee” by the categories you want to nominate a game for. You will be presented with some game suggestions for titles you’ve played, recommended games, or you’ll be given the option to search for a game.

It’s worth noting that eligibility for the Labor of Love category differs from all the other categories. The Labor of Love category is specifically for games that have been around for a while, at least a year. All games that released before last year’s Autumn Sale are eligible for nomination, with the exception of previous year’s winners (Warframe, GTA V, Counter-Strike 2, Terraria, Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2.)

For every category excluding Labor of Love, only games that released on Steam after the previous year’s Autumn Sale will be eligible for nominations.

The five finalists in each category will be available to vote on during the Steam Winter Sale this December until December 31, 2024, at 10am PST. The winners will be announced shortly after.
