KT Racing’s Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is just days away from its full release. In the lead-up to that, the PC system requirements have been revealed.

While you’re not going to need a battleship to run this new open-world racer, it does call for at least a system that can keep up with most other modern titles.

To run the PC edition of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, you’ll need to sport a CPU at least equivalent to an Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X if you’re on Team Red. However, the developers ideally recommend a Core i7-11700K or Ryzen 7 3700X.

On the GPU side of things, the minimum spec calls for an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 with 6GB of VRAM, or an AMD Radeon RX 480 with 8GB of VRAM. The A380 with 6GB of RAM is the baseline if you’re running a burgeoning Intel Arc GPU. Recommend instead is an Nvidia RTX 2080 (8GB) or Radeon RX 6650 (8GB.)

12GB of RAM is also the overall recommendation for this release; many PC gamers have at least 16GB, so this is the one spec that will be the easiest to hit for most players.

Finally, 50GB exclusively on an SSD is what Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown calls for in terms of storage. Compared to many other modern releases, 50GB is actually on the more compact side. But, the fact that this outright demands an SSD is still rather rare in the PC gaming world.

Gearing up

Just ahead of this news, KT Racing revealed its Year 1 Roadmap for the game. Within the next few months, players can expect a gradual rollout of new gameplay elements and various ongoing improvements.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will launch on September 12 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Those who pre-order the Gold Edition can begin playing as early as September 5.
