The Fortnite Disney Horizons live event from D23 revealed familiar battle royale faces sporting Marvel costumes, along with other skins from the world of Disney. Since then, leaks have been coming in thick and fast, including the claim that Lightning McQueen could race into Fortnite.
Lightning McQueen is the main protagonist in the hit movie franchise, Cars. The first Cars film hit our screens back in 2006, with sequels Cars 2 and Cars 3 releasing in 2011 and 2017 respectively.

According to prominent Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR on X, Epic Games could be “allowing characters as vehicles for future car skins and collaborations.” To corroborate their claims, it’s explained that this information is coming from the same source that showed off the Disney item shop.
Since the release of Rocket Racing with the debut of Chapter 5 Season 1, the mode hasn’t been short of vehicle decals. However, the addition of Lightning McQueen isn’t at all unrealistic. Already, Lightning McQueen is in Rocket League and the skin could be transferred to Fortnite. In Rocket League, Lightning McQueen is really brought to life, with intricate animations, truly giving the vehicle a sense of character. The ongoing collaboration with Rocket League has seen vehicle models, decorations, and more join various Fortnite modes.
If Lightning McQueen was to roll into Fortnite, it would be the first car to be a character rather than a skin. With that being said, leaks should always be taken with a pinch of salt until official word comes out.
