Apart from notable franchises that are associated with Nintendo systems such as Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, and Animal Crossing, the Switch is home to an increasing number of indie games. If you want to embark on a solo trip with just a ship and a rod, Fishing Break could be your next Nintendo Switch adventure.
The arcade game was originally developed by Roofdog Games and is available to play for free on mobile devices and on PC via the Google Play Games beta. Now it’s time for a new audience to see what the minimalistic, but surprisingly addictive title has to offer.
Fish that come in all shapes, sizes, and rarities
Already, Fishing Break has found success on iOS and Android devices, where it gained more than one million downloads. Now, the arcade fishing fun is preparing to go live on the Nintendo Switch, where it’ll feature hundreds of unique fish and over 20 fishing spots located across eight diverse worlds.
The charming cartoon style compliments the relaxing feel the game goes for. As you fish, you can sell what you catch to make profit. As a result, you’ll be able to use the coins you accumulate to make various upgrades. Improve your skills, fishing equipment, purchase different kinds of bait, and even customise your character.
Fishing Break will be available to purchase for $7.99/£7.99 when it hits the Nintendo eShop on July 25, 2024. Ultimate Games S.A, the team behind the development of Fishing Break on the Switch has released a new launch trailer.
