Valorant dev confirms Neon mid-air accuracy will be nerfed

valorant neon updates slide buff reverted

Valorant patch 8.11 is now live and it has introduced the brand new Abyss map, added a new communication wheel, and balanced five Agents. In particular, Neon has received some huge updates which could increase her pick rate in Valorant matches.

Riot Games aimed to “sharpen Neon as an Agent who excels at taking mobile fights directly to her opponents by buffing the unique value she brings to the table.” Sliding into enemies is more effective, while ensuring combat-readiness when you exit the mechanic.

Neon becomes the ultimate Duelist

The recent Valorant update made various changes to Neon, but let’s focus on her slide. She now possesses two slide charges instead of just the one, the second slide costs 150, and after sliding, there is now .2 seconds before her gun comes out.

The result of these adjustments are that all weapon movement errors when sliding are removed. Resultingly, expect to see more accuracy when sliding with Neon. However, Valorant players have quickly realised just how powerful the new slide is, especially mid-air.

Professional Valorant player, zekken posted a clip on X, showing off just how strong Neon is post patch. The Sentinels player is able to slide out of A tower on Haven and land a headshot mid-air.

It’s an understatement to say that Neon’s accuracy mid-air is powerful. Luckily, Product Management Lead over at Valorant, Coleman Palm, replied to the clip, stating that Neon’s aerial accuracy is not intended and the team are currently working on a fix.

In the meantime, you may be able to pull off some insane clips of your own until the nerf rolls out.
