At this point, Assassin’s Creed has become a household name and its popularity continues to grow. Ubisoft has taken players on unique adventures across vast worlds and we now know that some Assassin’s Creed games will be revisited in the form of remakes.
With Ubisoft going full steam ahead with new projects, remakes have taken a back seat. That’s until now, at least.
What’s old is new
In a Q&A with Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, it was confirmed that “players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich.”
This came in response to a question about continued variety in Assassin’s Creed releases, which Guillemot elaborated on by saying, “the goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which we’ve announced, which is going to be a very different game from Assassin’s Creed Shadows.”
With so many incredible Assassin’s Creed titles hitting storefronts since the series began in 2007, we can only hazard a guess as to which ones will get a re-release. Last year, it was leaked that a Black Flag remake was in the works, but no further details have come to light since.
Now that Assassin’s Creed remakes have been confirmed, there’s even more for fans of the franchise to look forward to, even if information on the specifics are scarce.
