Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has arrived with plenty of changes to the pace of combat and to the loot pool itself. The debut of Nitro has had its influence on the meta, while fresh Mythic weapons have provided new ways to slay through the opposition. Now, a clip has surfaced showing off an alleged version of the Heavy sniper rifle that could roll out this season.
The original Heavy sniper rifle is known for it’s high player and structural damage, but accuracy is key due to its traditionally slow firing nature. When it comes to the sniper pool, this is a fan favourite and its absence is usually felt when its stint on the map ends.
A heavy hitter
Fortnite leaker, AllyJax has shared footage of the new Heavy sniper rifle. The video shows that the sniper can be used with or without a scope attached. With only one shot in the chamber, it appears that the gun will need to be reloaded after every shot.
Although the stats aren’t confirmed, AllyJax predicts the “most likely” stats of the legendary version will be as follows:
- Damage: 138
- Headshot Multiplier: 2.5x (345 damage)
- Structure Damage: 193
- Firing Rate: 0.64
- Reload Time: 2.7 seconds
- Ammo: 1
This particular weapon is also expected to do 3x damage to vehicles which would make it one of the best options to combat the powerful vehicles at the centre of the Wrecked season.
Epic Games are always updating the loot pool, especially at the beginning of a new season. Only time will tell if this version of the Heavy sniper rifle will be unleashed on the Fortnite island.
