Like clockwork, Microsoft has formally announced the time and date for its annual Xbox Games Showcase presentation. This year, it will premiere as a livestream on June 9, 2024 at 1pm ET/ 10am PT.
The Showcase for this summer is set to include new looks at projects from various sectors of the Xbox Game Studios family, including newcomers to the family: Activision-Blizzard.
On the horizon
In addition to news being revealed via the main presentation, the Xbox Wire official blog and The Official Xbox Podcast will include “updates and deep-dives on a ton of games.”
There’s not even a hint as to exactly what franchises we can expect to make an appearance, but there are a few good guesses.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 got a surprise reveal last year, and not much has been shown off since. Asobo Studios, the team behind it, recently reconfirmed that the new sim will be releasing “later this year [2024,]” so more news is bound to finally be unveiled during this upcoming Showcase.
Forza Motorsport may get some attention as the game continues to be fleshed out since its tumultuous release back in late 2023, and perhaps a look at the future of the Forza Horizon franchise may be in order.
Of course, there’s a variety of other Microsoft franchises that are bound to be featured in the spotlight, but of particular interest is how the company will handle new projects from the newly-acquired Activision-Blizzard teams.
There will even be a follow-up “Redacted” presentation immediately after the main Xbox Games Showcase, hinting at a potential Call of Duty 2024 reveal which has been in development over at Treyarch.
