Ever since the game launched, Escape from Tarkov players have been asking for a PVE mode. The Unheard Edition did just that, but locked the mode behind a whopping $250 price tag. In response to community uproar, the developers have provided an update on the EOD bundle.
Those who own the EOD edition of the game can look forward to new features that’ll be exclusive to that version, but the perks are far from sufficient.
Escape from Tarkov deepens the drama
In a post on the Escape from Tarkov Reddit, Battlestate Games say they will “honor the owners of the EOD version and their indelible importance and role in the EFT universe.” The following features will be added to the EOD version:
- Faster return of insured items
- Increased personal trader buying limits by 20%
- Increased basic PMC karma (when it will be implemented)
- Access to unique hideout craft
- Increased basic charisma skill
- Special quest line with increased pockets side as a reward
- Ability to skip 2 daily quests per day free of charge
- Unique dog tag
- Unique armband
- Unique set of clothing
- Unique “Legacy” device
- High priority matching for EOD owners for 6 months
- Access to offline PVE for EOD owners for 6 months
The most striking detail outlined by the development team is that there will be “temporary access to PVE.” That controversial limited-time entry doesn’t have a release date yet, as it’s explained that the servers will have to be reinforced in order to support the mode for a wider audience.
Instead of squashing the Escape from Tarkov drama, this announcement has certainly thrown more fuel on the fire. The EOD edition will be discontinued, but a PVE mode remains up the in the air.
