Dead Island 2 first launched on Xbox, PlayStation and PC via the Epic Games Store on April 21, 2023. It missed out on a Steam release, but a year later, it’s set to arrive on Valve’s storefront. Before you begin slaying your way through Dead Island 2 zombies via Steam, get to know the release time in your part of the world.
A post-apocalyptic Los Angeles comes in three editions: Dead Island 2 Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Gold Edition. The Standard Edition features the base game, whereas the Deluxe version includes the base game, Jacob and Amy character packs, and a Golden Weapons Pack. The Gold Edition contains everything in a Deluxe copy, plus a Pulp Weapons Pack, along with Haus and SoLA DLCs.

Although Dead Island doesn’t have full crossplay, you can team up with friends who are on the same platform. This means that those who already purchased the game on the Epic Games Store will be able to play online with Steam users.
The base game isn’t all that will be added to Steam, but the DLC content, too. The first DLC named Haus is set in a twisted Malibu villa, with the second DLC, SoLA throwing you into a chaotic festival. Both DLCs are paid and owners of the Dead Island 2 Story Expansion Pass will get access to both of the unique and equally horrifying stories.
