Escape from Tarkov is coming under fire from the community due to the announcement that upcoming content would be locked behind a $250 edition. The situation was made even worse when Battlestate Games announced controversial plans to “honour” owners of the EOD version. DayZ has now had their say on the matter and taken a swipe at Escape from Tarkov.
For over a decade, players have been taking on the post-apocalyptic world of DayZ. Much like Escape from Tarkov, it has a loyal fanbase, but that loyalty is being tested over on the Escape from Tarkov side.
In a post from the official DayZ account on X (formerly Twitter,) the team share that their joke “$250 DayZ starter Loot Bundle is now sold out,” and that’s not even the best part. The team go on to say that there’s a “limited stock as we cant give to everyone – it’s too expensive and technically hard,” potentially throwing shade at the fact that the Escape from Tarkov PVE mode doesn’t yet have a release date because the servers are limited and can’t yet support a wider audience.
DayZ sign off by saying “the true believers will get to enjoy the bundle for 6 months,” clowning Escape from Tarkov again since high priority matching and access to offline PVE mode was initially only going to be accessible to EOD owners for just 6 months.
This isn’t the first time DayZ has mocked its competitors on X / Twitter as they also played on the disastrous launch of The Day Before. Being veterans of the Survival game genre, perhaps Bohemia Interactive have the right to make a dig here and there.
