NEXON’s Warhaven is shutting down later this year, despite still being in early access. Sadly, the game failed to stand out from the crowd and find the success it needed to keep going.
Warhaven has had a turbulent ride, but that didn’t stop the developers adding new content and deploying regular updates.
Warhaven is shutting down in April
Here is the statement regarding Warhaven’s future which was posted on their official X account.
The team behind the medieval fantasy PvP title has announced “with a heavy heart that we will be concluding the live services of Warhaven. From the 1st alpha test in 2021 to the global early access in 2023, Warhaven has come this far, thanks to everyone’s love and support.”
They continue “we want to express our gratitude for the love and care you have shown for Warhaven. To create a game that could be cherished and enjoyed over an extended period, we invested much consideration and effort.”
It has been confirmed that we will “bid our sincere farewell as of April 5, 2024” and we can expect to hear more details on the schedule at a later date.
The “shortcomings” are recognised here and NEXON sign off with, “we will deeply cherish the warm affection and support you have sent towards Warhaven in our hearts. Thank you for being part of the Warhaven’s journey.”
It’s always sad to see a game go, especially one like Warhaven which had so much potential. However, this won’t be the last we see from NEXON, as their upcoming title, The First Descendant, is expected to launch in summer 2024.
