Starfield fans have been waiting for the highly anticipated Steam Beta update. Initially, it was expected to roll out today, but the patch is nowhere to be seen. That’s because Bethesda has informed space explorers that the update isn’t ready for take-off just yet.
Game updates being delayed is nothing new, especially since more bumps can be found along the road. That’s exactly what has occurred with Starfield’s upcoming patch.
Starfield Steam Beta gets hit with a delay
Just days ago, Bethesda announced on X that their biggest Starfield update so far would be released on January 17, 2024. Over 100 fixes and improvements are expected to be made, some of which have already been shared. There will be fixes to quests, widescreen support to certain textures, sun disc geometry tweaks, and so much more which will be detailed in the full patch notes.
However, Bethesda recently followed up on their initial post, stating that the Starfield update that was getting ready to go into Steam Beta will leave the launch pad a little later than scheduled. The reason being that the development team “discovered an issue we want to address before releasing our update into the Steam Beta.”
Although a new date for the update hasn’t been set, Bethesda are “aiming to release it later this week.”
