The Sims 4 launched all the way back in 2014 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. EA has continued to support the title, rolling out countless DLCs and even making the base game free-to-play in October 2022. Despite its popularity, The Sims 4 is yet to hit the Nintendo Switch store and now the team behind the franchise has revealed whether or not it’ll hit Nintendo’s console in the future.
The Sims 3, along with other games from the MySims universe made their way onto the Nintendo Wii, with a handful launching on the Wii U, too. However, The Sims franchise has been absent from Nintendo consoles ever since.
Will The Sims 4 release on Nintendo Switch?
In a now deleted post over on X, a user pointed out that the Nintendo Switch came up as a platform that supported The Sims 4 when typing the game into Google. Since the Nintendo Switch was listed on the official link to the EA website, speculation started as to whether or not the latest entry to The Sims series would finally be joining the platform.
However, the official The Sims Direct Communications account responded on X, clearing up the situation.
They state, “Oop! We’ve updated this information as this seems to be an error in the search data. The Sims 4 is not available with no plans for release on the Nintendo Switch.”
There’s no doubt that some fans were hoping to finally play The Sims 4 on the go via the Switch, but it doesn’t look like that’ll be the case. With that being said, there’s the next entry of The Sims to look forward to, labelled Project Rene.
