The third entry into the indie horror franchise Poppy Playtime has now been delayed until 2024. Along with the announcement came a brand new trailer which shows off various gameplay elements.
An upcoming release getting delayed is not what players want to hear, especially when the game was so close to its original release date of December 2023. With that being said, the delay is to make sure the game is ship shape before it goes live.
Poppy Playtime’s most terrifying chapter will arrive in 2024
In a statement posted on X, fans are informed that Mob Entertainment has “made the unfortunate decision to delay Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 several additional weeks into 2024. We realise that this news may be disappointing. This was a tough decision for us to make and we hope you can accept our apologies.”
They go on to explain that this decision was made to ensure the game makes its debut with “the quality we’re striving for. Simply put, the game is not ready yet.”
However, it’s not all doom and gloom. The team has dropped a fresh Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 gameplay trailer showing off the suspenseful environment and featuring some familiar faces and puzzles. Additionally, the trailer reveals the official name of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 which is Deep Sleep.
Although an exact release date is yet to be announced, those that have been waiting so patiently for the next instalment of Poppy Playtime can expect a further update in early 2024.
