fnaf help wanted 2 black screen fix

The popular Five Nights at Freddy’s video game franchise has got a brand new entry with the launch of Help Wanted 2. It is a sequel to the original VR horror experience and there are multiple game modes to master. Head backstage to help Roxanne Wolf and the S.T.A.F.F Bots get ready for their performances, test out E-ticket attractions and most importantly, survive. The roll out of FNAF: Help Wanted 2 hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing as many players are reporting unwanted black screens interrupting their playthroughs.

While the team over at Steel Wool Studios figure out a fix, they’ve offered a workaround. Since it is a workaround, it may not solve the issue every time, but it’s worth a try.

FNAF: Help Wanted 2 black screen workaround

Here are all the steps involved to try and stop the black screen problem:

  • Make sure you’re launching the game through SteamVR and/or Quest Link
  • Right-click Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2 in your library > select “Properties…”
  • In the ‘General’ tab, find the text box underneath ‘Launch Options’
  • Enter the text “-hmd=SteamVR” (without the quotes)
  • Relaunch Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2

If luck still isn’t on your side, some players have reportedly used “-openvr” in the Launch Options as a working solution, but the developers note that hasn’t worked on their side.

Those are the only known workarounds for the FNAF: Help Wanted 2 black screen issue. Although they aren’t guaranteed to get the job done, they’re the only potential solutions available until the developers patch the issue out of the game for good.
