Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play has been confirmed. Modern Warfare 2 didn’t get Ranked Play until February 2023, but thankfully, MW3 is aiming for an earlier Ranked Play window.
When you hop in Ranked Play, you can expect to play 4v4 modes with the Call of Duty League ruleset enabled. You can play as the pros and climb the ranks by earning that all important SR for winning matches.
Prepare to climb the ranks in MW3
At the Call of Duty: NEXT showcase, Sledgehammer Games said that Ranked Play will debut in MW3 during “Season 1.5,” so we can expect it to be part of the mid-season update.
MW3 Ranked Play is being developed by Treyarch, just like MW2. On stream, it was revealed that Ranked Play will be transferred over from MW2, therefore, we can expect it to function in the exact same way when it launches in MW3.
So far, that’s all we know about Ranked Play, but we can expect more details in the coming months.
We don’t yet know what maps and modes will be in the competitive pool, but we can expect to see Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and a third game mode. The past 3 years, we’ve seen Control as the third game mode, but it’s unknown if that’ll be the case in MW3, especially with the growing discontent among the pro scene about the mode.
