It’s that time of year where video games take a spooky twist and Call of Duty is the latest to join in with the Halloween celebrations. I’ll admit, before I queued into my first game of The Haunting event, I instantly disabled jump scares. Warzone is intense enough, even without ghouls surprising you when you open a loot box. If you too want to turn off jump scares in Warzone, it can be done at the press of a button.
This year, The Haunting event has brought back the popular Zombie Royale mode, a Vondead limited-edition experience, and an array of rewards to unlock along the way. There’s also a Diablo crossover which sees Butcher join Operation Nightmare as a boss that you must defeat. There’s frights around every corner, but jump scares can be too much for some.
How to turn off jump scares in Warzone
In the main lobby, go to the battle pass tab and there will be an option to disable jump scares. All you have to do is click “no tricks, just treats, turn them off.” If you change your mind and decide you actually prefer the scary touch, you can always re-enable jump scares in the battle pass tab.
The Haunting event will conclude in Warzone on November 6, so our nightmares will come to an end in just over two weeks time. We will then have another year to prepare ourselves for the next batch of jump scares.
