Ahead of its full launch on October 10, Forza Motorsport is now available for early access to those who pre-ordered the $99.99 (USD) Premium Edition of the game.
With servers now live, the tracks are fully open for racers on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
Clutch, brake, gas
Forza Motorsport has been a long time coming, having spent six years in the garage being developed. It delivers a roster of 500 cars (which will increase over time,) along with over a dozen tracks, including laser-scanned recreations of real-world locations and fictional circuits.
Not only has the driving model been greatly overhauled with more realistic and complex features like realistic tire wear, more accurate physics and damage, but so too has the game’s visual suite. Atmospheric effects such as fog and rain are greatly enhanced and a proper dynamic time-of-day system has been implemented to breathe new life into the track environment.
On PC and Xbox Series X, ray-tracing can be activated during gameplay to allow for real-time reflections, along with more pronounced ambient occlusion that adds significant depth to lights and shadows.
The AI opponents are also smarter and more calculated, leading to more intense and visceral races.
Putting power to the pedal in Forza Motorsport
Forza Motorsport is available on PC and Xbox Series X|S via three editions: Standard, Deluxe and Premium.
The previously-mentioned Premium Edition includes not only the 5-day early access, but it’s also bundled with the Car Pass which will deliver 30 cars over the course of one per week after launch. VIP Membership is also given, which sports perks such as double credits earned, five special Forza Edition cars and more. The Welcome Pack unlocks five cars at the beginning of the game and deposits 500,000 bonus credits.
The Deluxe Edition just includes the Car Pass for $89.99 and the Standard Edition grants access to just the base game for $69.99.
Forza Motorsport is available via Xbox Game Pass and will launch there on October 10, alongside the Deluxe and Standard editions. Remember that if you buy the game on either a PC or Xbox Series console, it will be playable on the other if your account is linked.
