Fortnite’s Zero Build allows you to play battle royale the traditional way. It takes away the building element, focusing on gunfights and using the environment to your advantage. The mode was added to Fortnite in 2022 and quickly became extremely popular. However, Zero Build could be temporarily removed going into the next Fortnite season.
There has been a lot of speculation recently that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 will see the return of the Chapter 1 map. This comes from leakers, as well as Chapter 1 items appearing on the current map.
Fortnite Zero Build allegedly visiting the vault
Prominent Fortnite leaker, HYPEX revealed on X that Fortnite will disable tactical sprinting and climbing in Season 5 and it will return in Chapter 5 (via @Wensoing) It’s thought that this is to accommodate the rumoured return to the Chapter 1 map.
In a follow up post, HYPEX states:
“Also I personally think that they might even temporarily disable Zero Build too next season because they can’t make it work smoothly on most of the Chapter 1 map. It’s only a month-long season anyway, it’s not a permanent thing.”
If this is anything to go by, the developers seem to be taking it back to basics, removing many core elements in the game today that weren’t around in Chapter 1. Of course, this will bring back the feel of how Fortnite was back in the day, but significantly change the gameplay that players have become accustomed to.
We’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Epic Games as to what their plans are regarding Zero Build and the upcoming season. According to HYPEX, the next season will only be “a month-long season,” so Zero Build fans won’t be without their favourite mode forever.
Chapter 4 Season 4 is scheduled to end on November 3.
