VALORANT Champions 2023 has now ended, with Evil Geniuses being crowned the winners. In over 30 matches played, almost every Agent in the game got at least one game on the global stage. However, one agent didn’t make the cut, suggesting it isn’t viable at a professional VALORANT level.
The VALORANT Agent roster continues to grow, with no signs of slowing down any time soon. Also, the development team are always working hard to patch Agents in an attempt to keep the battlefield balanced.
Deadlock didn’t make it to VALORANT Champions 2023
The only Agent that wasn’t chosen at VALORANT Champions was Deadlock. This agent was released back in June and although players are usually eager to try out the latest characters, Deadlock was neglected pretty early on.
According to data collected by Blitz, Deadlock only has a 3.3% pick rate, putting her at 15th place in terms of popularity in competitive matches. At higher ranks, the number of times Deadlock appears in a match gets even lower.
The last time Deadlock featured in a VALORANT update was with patch 7.02. However, no changes were made to the Agent. Instead, the patch focused on fixing Deadlock’s Annihilation bugs.
With a long off-season up ahead, we’ll have to wait and see if Riot Games decide to buff or re-work Deadlock in a future update.
