Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged releasing this October

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged Trailer shot

The team over at Milestone is hitting the classic orange track again with the incoming release of Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged.

Coming two years after its predecessor, the newest entry will feature a wider variety of cars, all new abilities and more dynamic gameplay, with tracks that flow between indoor and outdoor environments.

“Beat that!”

Similar to the classic toy series itself, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged builds off of its predecessor by introducing a slew of new mechanics. In the announcement trailer, it’s made immediately clear that vehicles can now perform new tricks such as a quick vertical jump, a-la Speed Racer’s Mach 5, and even a boost-propelled side ‘step’, similar to what Sonic the Hedgehog can do in his boost-formula games.

Along with the new ways to control your car, the complexity of gameplay is further enhanced by races no longer being confined to just an indoor setting which was the case in the first game.

The Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged trailer shows the cars leaping from the orange track inside of a bedroom, to then land straight onto the grass and gravel of the backyard of a house. More than just a change of scenery, the trailer also shows off the race cars struggle when rolling into a sand pit, only to be overtaken by a slew of off-road vehicles, including an ATV and a monster truck. They all eventually join up together again, even with a race bike in the mix. All of this confirms an even grander collection of vehicles and vehicle types for the new game.

This new trailer shows off a decent amount of high-octane action, although the only downside is that none of it is actual gameplay. However, with a release date of October 13, it shouldn’t be long before some proper gameplay is revealed.

Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged will put the pedal to the diecast metal on October 13, 2023, across all platforms: PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam/Epic Games Store).

Full details of all the new features and how to pre-order are available on the game’s official website.
